Development Stages
Every
website that we develop is different in some way - the design, page
nagivation, purpose and customer requirement. Having said this,
the development structure we have devised over the years goes a
long way to ensuring that the process is managed smoothly and with
the minimum of disruption to your business or organisation.

The
stages we go through during the development process are detailed
below. We do not stipulate a timeframe for completion but this is
agreed within the project plan. We also believe in being open and
transparent in relation to our invoicing policy and stage the payments
throughout the development.

Our
discussions and consultations may take a little time but it is vitally
important that we fully understand what you want. We can help you
make a decision about how to go about the process and also what
impact this may have on your business. For example, an e-commerce
site may become successful very quickly - we can help you to ensure
that your business structure is robust enough to handle the increase
in sales.
At
the beginning of the development we ask for a 25% deposit.

During
our discussions we will decide which programming language best suits
the development, which database is required and which other hosting
and email services would benefit the project within the agreed budget.
Once decided, this enables us to create the correct hosting and emails
accounts and proceed with the project. |
Next
we will want to create a design reflecting your business and preferences
complimenting the other areas of your company - letterheads, vehicle
livery etc, so we will need to get this right. By this time we will
know the number of main pages and type of menu that best suits your
site. We do not move on to the next stage of the process until the
design is completed to your satisfaction. At this stage changing the
design is easy as it is only an image. |
Agreeing
the design is a formal stage of the process as it can be very difficult
to make major design and menu changes after this. Once the design
and menu system has been agreed, the design image is converted into
a working website without the content (Grey Site). We will then
go over the workings of the site to make sure that it navigates
properly and any further changes are made at this stage.
Once
the design is agreed, we will invoice you a further 25%

Adding
the text and image content to the website is generally pretty pain
free so long as all content is supplied in time. It is easier and
quicker if the text is already typed, but this is not a requirement.
Permission to use images must be obtained where necessary. We have
an account with a good royalty free image supplier if required. |
Once
the content has been added we thoroughly test each area of the website
and ensure that everything is working correctly. We then discuss
any last minute changes and once they are complete we arrange for
the site to be launched to the Internet.
We
will invoice you the remaining 50% and ask for cleared payment prior
to the site being launched.
After
your website is launched, we provide support and advice as well as
content management solutions. We can discuss how we support your website
after the development period has finished. |
