These
instructions are mainly for users of Microsoft XP Outlook
and Outlook Express. Other email clients are similar and you
may be able to adapt these instructions to suit.
1.
Click on your Outlook icon or open Outlook by going via your
Start button on Windows.

Go to the TOOLS and click on Email Accounts

3.
Click to Add a new account
4.
Then click POP3 asnd NEXT
5.
On the next page (seen below, you will need to enter your
email account information)

(a)
Your name
(b) Your email address as supplied
(c) Incoming server - this is your domain (ie our domain is
hansam.co.uk) and should be written - mail.yourdomain.co.uk
(ours is mail.hansam.co.uk).
(d) Outgoing server - this is your service provider ie BT
Connect and should be written - SMTP.btconnect.com
Some
Internet Service Providers (BT Internet for example) may require
SMTP Authentication in order to send emails. Click
Here for instructions for using SMTP Authentication.
NOTE:
if you use the Hansam dialup service, the SMTP setting will
be SMTP.yourdomain.co.uk
(e)
User Name - this is your email address
(f) Password - this is your email password supplied by us.
Note:
the email password is unlikely to be the same as your Internet
connection password.
Once
the above information has been entered, click More Settings

6.
The first blank field dictates how others see your email address
when they receive it. Therefore is is probably best to enter
your name ie Fred Bloggs or the purpose of the email
address ie Enquries - Hansam Internet
The
other fields may be left blank. Click OK which will
return you to the screen at Section 5 above.
6.
You can test your email settings by pressing the Test
button. You must be connected to the Internet to do this.
7.
Press Next and then Finish and you have completed
the task.
